Whales and Comfy Cloth

Whales are a great collectible animal. Not ACTUAL whales! That would be incredibly difficult! I mean whale themed items.. like these!

Those are tissue boxes! Ha! So fun!

Everything is okay when you got a whale by your side! We learned that life lesson in Finding Nemo!

Another think I love is comfy clothes and big sweaters (especially when they are from Anthropologie)
side note: I'm taking a medical anthropology class next quarter. It has to be fun, right?

It all makes me feel so comfy cozy in this cold weather!
I also am going through a serious phase with these Native American type patterns. I don't know what they this style is called or if it has anything to do with Native Americans, but I love it!!!

Wednesday

Happy December

Today is December 1st and after a loooooong day of nonstop rain yesterday, today's gift to Cincinnati is a flurry of snow :) What a wonderful way to wake up to a wonderful month! AND I just realized I get to start my advent chocolate calendar today! So much to celebrate! Advent chocolate calendars are so great. Every day of the month of December you open up a square door and receive a piece of chocolate for the day! On the one I have now, you have to search for the day! Very exciting! And now starts the most wonderful month of the year! Happy holidays and happy birthday to me! Spread the cheer!

Ban on Four Loko and Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

Four Loko's have been in the news a lot lately, and they were recently banned in Ohio. Though it's probably best for all, some college students beg to disagree. To capture a bit of this frustration, I drew a little picture.

Hey! Someone put a ban on four loko!

IN OTHER NEWS... VICTORIA'S SECRET FASHION SHOW WITH KATY PERRY!
2010's Victoria's Secret fashion show did not disappoint (other than the fact that Miranda Kerr did not walk considering she's pregnant.) Katy Perry performed wonderfully as usual. The show was fun and fab as usual. The wings were big and ridiculous as usual. Overall it was a good time. I personally liked the country portion of the show and Katy Perry's performing/interacting with the models. The "game on" part was also very entertaining by representing different sports in underwear. ALL of which took place on a perfectly glittery runway!

Check out the soccer ball attire. Nice huh?

Looks like we got a Cincinnati Reds fan!

Yup. Bubble wings AND a bubble gun.

Her wings are actually a splash of water! Because she's a swimmer! Get it? Oh the creativity.

Ribbon dancing is a sport too of course!

Too much? Never.

The fact that Katy Perry can look good up there with all those models is quite an accomplishment.

Adriana Lima and Alessandria Ambrosio really know how to work a crowd, especially as they say farewell.

A Little Trip To Target with Shwayze and Cisco Adler

What a great music video :) Ha ha love Shwayze!! and Target!

Cool Things I Forgot About

Sometimes when I see something I really like on the internet, I save it so some time when I think of it or just choose to look at the things I saved, I am pleasantly surprised! And I always am surprised. It's like when you purposely leave some cash in your pocket so you'll find it later (or maybe that's just me!) I really knew it was there all along, but I totally forget.
Here are some things I came across lately...

This is one of my favorite dresses of all time. I just LOVE it :)

The wedding dress version of the previous dress.

The reason I began saving pictures of things I liked. I just wanted to keep it! I believe this to bet the best red carpet dress of all time. Way to go Heidi Klum (and John Galliano, the designer!) Some say she looks like dracula, but I say she looks like a winner!

It seems like it might get a little warm in there... and chlorine smelling... and moist...

Look at those beautiful eyes!

I love this Dumb and Dumber poster of course. Best movie ever. Best poster ever (ok... maybe not EVER.)

At first, I thought this was a whale, but upon closer observation, I noticed that it is only a large fish. I still like it :) From the one and only, Anthropologie.

I thought this was neat! It's like crumpled paper as a wallpaper for your desktop! I showed some friends, though, and they weren't really impressed... eh I still like it.

Now if you don't like this, then I don't like YOU! Ha no I'm totally kidding, but I don't care who y'are, this is neato!

I love this bedroom! I just do. It inspires me to decorate and what not.

I want my shelf space to look like this... Hmm... I'll work on it. Geez I wish I could go to the store right now and get some office supplies.

Saturday

Twitter?

I just signed up on twitter. Seemed like a good idea. I mean everyone is always talking about it, especially on late night tv! And those guys are sometimes funny! I wanna see what they are always "tweeting" about!
AND I have about a bagilion posts on here that I started, but never had a chance to finish. So many good ideas lost to the world of posts to edit. Well I can start TWEETING stuff.
To be honest, I'm pretty confused by twitter... I'm not sure how everything works yet. I've got a lot to learn. It's a crazyyy world out there!

The best part about twitter?
THE FAIL WHALE!

Another thing:
Ke$ha's new singles!!
Well she's got Sleazy and We R Who We R! I Love We R Who We R, and I highly suggest it to everyone! Sleazy wasn't a win at first, but I like it more since attending the Ben Folds Concert at Bogarts in Cincinnati! He decided he was going to cover whatever song was number one on itunes at the time, and you know it! It was our girl Ke$ha's single, Sleazy from her upcoming album, Cannibal (releases on Nov. 22.) Sleazy isn't exactly Ben's genre, but he ROCKED it :) Love Ben Folds. Although, I have to admit, I was incredibly surprised to find that many of my friends didn't know who we was!!! I believe that as children of the 90's, it is our responsibility to know Ben Folds!

MATTY B raps to We R Who We R! He's 7 years old and not to be "confused with Eminem." We will watch his career with great interest (that's a Star Wars quote... and I feel slightly embarrassed for saying it, but not enough to not say it.)

Follow me on twitter (I hope I'm using all the right terminology here.)

Wednesday

POSTER SALES!!

There was a POSTER SALE going on today on UC's campus. LOVE IT! I stopped by on my way to class and looked at as much as I could under the big white tent at McMicken Commons. It was the perfect start to my day! I had some coffee and looked at the posters while enjoying the beautiful weather (75 and sunny.)
They had your pretty typical posters there:

- Bob Marley (of course)
- Flowers (the flower ones weren't that good though)
- Scenic views and inspirational messages
- College stuff like the periodic table of mixology and drinking game rules. (and Animal House. Yes it was with the college stuff not the movies.)

- Movies - You gotch your Boondock Saints, your Hangovers, your Superbads, your Pulp Fictions, blah blah blah typical.
- Megan Fox and Johnny Depp - Not sure why I linked those together. Maybe because people think both of them are really hot.
- "Hot girls" - I don't have much info on them because I didn't look at that section. Sorry.
- T.V. Shows - Well of course everybody loves FRIENDS. There were about a million of those. Then there was House, Family Guy, Gossip Girl, Arrested Development, and Glee (there was only one though. I was surprised.) And.... are you ready? Drum roll please... SEX AND THE CITY! They had two options. One was the four women looking rather sophisticated, but kinda boring. The other one (the one I got) was of Carrie Bradshaw with New York lights shining behind her and the name Carrie practically glowing across her shirt :) I also got a little poster of The OC for Kara and me :)

- Nerdy stuff like science fiction (star wars etc...) and nintendo (not gonna lie I always kinda want them... especially super mario!)

They had other stuff too like a Campbell's soup poster that I liked a lot. I don't know why I liked it. It was just Campbell's tomato soup. They also had maps and maps of the world and quotes and stuff. AND they had a poster of snoopy layin' on his little dog house that says "I could lay here for the rest of my life." That got Kara (my roommate) and I talking about our jealousy of snoopy because he just gets to lay there all day on his dog house and do whatever he wants! That lucky little dog.

I'm surprised they didn't have any Justin Bieber posters! Ha... Justin Bieber... and there was no Ke$ha :( The poster I REALLY wanted, though, was SHWAYZE! I wasn't surprised they didn't have any though. I'm pretty sure Shwayze only has like one poster.

Well I'll leave you with this little fact: There are more homosexual male bats than any other mammal. Kara Gandy told me that.

Tuesday

Foreign Friend Requests

Ok, don't have much time! Lots of studying to do! But I just wanted to mention the random friend requests I get on facebook (I'm sure many of you do too) from completely random people I have DEFINITELY never met with names written in languages I don't even recognize.

WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?

I currently have 11 of these type of requests pending on my facebook. I have a couple pretty random mutual friends with a few of the foreigners, but other than that I see absolutely no connection. It makes me laugh a little... but I really don't understand it...

like this one...

يوسف البلعدي

Welp! I guess that's all I have to say... I would talk about other things, but there is just not enough time today. Later Gator.

P.S. I found out a lot of people actually read my blog (or at least look at it) based on the number of page views! HA! Who would have thought? Maybe I'll become famous! ... yeah... ok well bye.

Monday

Some songs, voting, and football

I've been introduced/reunited with some great songs thanks to some super housemates and some facebook home-paging ;) This list is completely random, as in the songs have nothing to do with each other and I am completely aware of this. I guess it's a good representation of my iTunes. RANDOM! But I love it all!

- KiD CuDi's Erase Me feat Kanye West

- Kina Grannis in general. But the song Valentine in particular. My housemate, Hannah, gave me her Stairwells album! I know my girlzies Brittnie and Katie love her too! And they are awwwesome singers! Check 'em out y'all http://dreamtillyoudrop.tumblr.com/ They've got a few Kina Grannis songs on the site, but their version of Valentine is especially fantastic featuring Mr. Jack Scott and some ukulele action :)

Kina's got a pretty cool story :) Check her out!

-  24 Preludes, Op. 28 (Raindrops) by Chopin - Ms. Khanh Trinh plays this on the keyboard in our apartment and i LOVE it! Khanh plays it best :)

- Clair de Lune -not Edward Cullen.

OTHER STUFF

REGISTER TO VOTE! ELECTIONS ARE COMING UP! This is my first opportunity to vote in a national election! Oh yeah! it's easy to register! And important! So do it! ROCK THE VOTE, but you have to do it by OCTOBER 4!!

I also just wanna throw in a little shout out to the UC Bearcat football team! Sure we lost on Saturday against 8th ranked Oklahoma, but we put up a good fight! Especially with JK Schaffer's wonderful interception and the team members' new mohawks :)

Sunday

My Bike

I have the best bike in the entire world and I love to ride it all day every day. My brother, Dominic, put it together for me after he found a frame sitting on the side of the road.

Good work Dom!

Notice the yellow tires! Sweeeet! I also picked the yellow color for the bike :) Love it.
Every time I walk into the bike store someone comments on the sweetness of my bike! Yeahhh!

It's a Lotus frame that he found. According to the man at the Eddy's Bike Shop
(where I have spent a lot of time recently) this is an Italian style frame, which is a nice frame!

This part of the bike is different now as of Friday. I got a new derailleur because
this one was too small and caused my chain to break while I was riding! It was so sad.
I am definitely leaning a lot about bikes over this process. The main thing I've learned is that I have the best bike in the world! Made with love and loved with love

Friday

Robot Unicorn Attack

So I haven't "blogged" in a while, and I was gonna just not do it over the summer but I felt compelled to mention Robot Unicorn Attack. Don't be quick to judge this game. It's the bomb dot com.

Check it out at http://games.adultswim.com/robot-unicorn-attack-twitchy-online-game.html or in "links I love."

Stuff I love about this game:

- the unicorn part
- the star part
- the severed head part
- the fairy things part
- the rainbows part
- the DOLPHIN part (sooo good)
- the everything about it part
But the BEST part is the music! It is so fantastic! I sing along the whole time! Can't get enough!!

Tuesday

The smell of rain

There's a light drizzle outside as dormitory residents say farewells, pack up, and head home. The smell of the rain is fantastic. I just want to sit on a bench and read a book or just take it all in. It being the smell of the rain, the end of freshman year, and all that I have learned here.

I am in love with the rain. Thunderstorms, the gloom, the rain drops, and the amazing green that the world becomes. Don't get me wrong, I am a sunshine fan for sure, but a nice rain is just right sometimes. There is no thunder or lightening happening right now. It is a quiet, peaceful rain as campus slows down and the hallways, usually full of hustle, bustle, and screaming also calm down.

When I'm at home I like to sit on the porch during storms. I always walk out there and my Dad is already sitting there with his blanket just looking at the rain. Like father like daughter I guess.

I think I'll go back outside and just breath for a minute.

Sunday

The End(s)

Here we go again. Almost another week GONE. Where did it go? I couldn't tell ya. Everything is starting to wrap up now in preparation for the end of the quarter. I will be going home in 4 short days, which means everything we do right now is "the last time"... at least for the year :) which is NUTS because I feel like I just moved in yesterday! But I in fact moved in 9 months ago and summer "vacation" is now quickly approaching. The sound of those large rolling bins they supply in the dorms for moving stuff is a constant noise out the window now as people move out. As sad as it is to say goodbye, I love all of the ending stuff. Like, LAST DAY OF CLASSES, or LAST CHEMISTRY TEST! It's time for summer and old friends and pools and bonfires and s'mores and boats... and stats class? and work? The point is I am very excited for summer and to get out of this super HOT dorm. I swear it is 100 degrees in here, but I'm gonna miss everyone so much!! Tear.

It's always exciting in grade school when school lets out and everyone cheers for summer vacation! Now things are a little different, especially because everyone leaves at different times and it's all going to be so different next year when we're living in a HOUSE! HOLLA! But there's almost a little more excitement because I get to see all my friends I never get to see because they go to schools far far away like New York and Californiarl... jerks... anywho I will see them soon and all shall be merry :)

Here comes summer lovin'

That's me! On a tube!

GOODBYE DANIELS HALL
and freshman year!
I will miss you!!
